Safer Recruitment
Making the right recruitment decisions is one of the most important choices an organisation makes.
If you recruit staff or volunteers to work with children or young people, it is essential you create a culture of safer recruitment and, as part of that, adopt recruitment procedures that help discourage, reject or identify people who might harm children.
Sglein can help you develop your skills and increase your confidence to recruit the right people and to maintain an ongoing, safer culture of vigilance.
This workshop looks at:
- Safer Recruitment and the wider context of safeguarding
- The prevalence of abuse and profile of abusers
- How abusers operate within organisations
- Features of a Safer Recruitment process and planning a Safer Recruitment process
- Making the right decision: interview and selection
- Using criminal records information
- Setting acceptable standards of behaviour & maintaining an ongoing culture of vigilance
This workshop is delivered as a 1-day session face-to-face or 2 x half day sessions online.
Sglein is accredited by the Safer Recruitment Consortium to deliver this training, which we are able to offer through the medium of Welsh, English or Bilingually.
The workshop is interactive and will give individuals the knowledge, understanding and confidence to make better decisions. Following a short assessment, participants will receive a nationally recognised certificate of completion.
Training can be arranged at a date and location convenient for you - contact us to discuss your requirements.
